What is the female gaze? The male gaze gives us entertainment from a man’s point of view, with men as the heroes and protagonists and women relegated to supporting roles and sexy-girl characters. Yaoi is an exception—stories made by women for the female gaze. But the female gaze isn’t just about women regarding men as sex objects as they do us; it’s about seeing ourselves as heroes. This moderated open discussion will be a safe space to talk about the female gaze in the context of what we as women would love to see in manga and comic books, movies and TV. As readers and consumers of entertainment, and as creators of entertainment, we have choices. Our dollars speak at the box office. If women controlled Hollywood, what kind of movies would we see on the big screen?

In this offbeat game show, players picked up in the Yaoi Cash Cab have to answer yaoi trivia questions with mounting point values before they reach their destination. If a player answers incorrectly, he is kicked out without any prizes. There are two opportunities to ask the audience for help. Once the player reaches his destination, he can leave the cab with his winnings, or risk them on a more difficult question. A correct answer doubles his winnings; an incorrect answer means he leaves the cab with no prizes at all.
